WHY THE SHELTER MATTERS
Basingstoke Night Light Winter Shelter is a pop-up shelter for rough sleepers run by the churches of Basingstoke. It operates from the beginning of December to the end of February each year. We welcome volunteers of any faith or none to work alongside us in our mission to bring hope during the coldest months of the year.
Thinking of volunteering?
The Open Evening is a chance to hear what volunteering involves, speak to people with experience and ask anything you want to know. You are not committing to volunteer simply by attending.
WHAT WE AIM TO PROVIDE
- Shelter
- A friendly space
- Warm, wholesome food
- Social activities
- A listening ear
- Compassion and understanding
- Signposts to longer term support
Above all we want to offer them hope for a better future.
