Together 4 Basingstoke exists to “seek the good of Basingstoke”, by encouraging, equipping and coordinating the Christians of Basingstoke to be involved in serving our whole community through practical action. This includes (but is not limited to) supporting those who live with food insecurity, debt, homelessness, poor physical or mental health, loneliness or isolation, young children, and challenging pregnancies. Groups of Christians also support refugees and immigrants settle and integrate; mentor youth. Others offer chaplaincy to workers and visitors to the town centre by day, and all in the night-time economy at weekends, and in our hospital and hospice. These groups offer free help irrespective of a person’s nationality, background or religion, not pushing our religious views, but happily responding when asked about them.
Together 4 Basingstoke aims to be an enabling partner for the charities, churches, Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council , and other public sector organisations.
It is emerging as a separate organisation from OneChurch Basingstoke, with whom it will continue to work closely. Currently it shares the same group of trustees and bank account..
Together 4 Basingstoke and OneChurch Basingstoke are both projects operating under the governance of The Starfish Enterprise Trust Ltd.
