Do YOU love singing and evangelising?
Then this might be just right for YOU!
Sounds of hope, a Christian Community Choir, have singers from many various branches of the church in and around the Basingstoke area.
We are holding our annual outreach service of Nine Lessons and Carols, on the evening of Friday 6th December starting at 7:45pm. There will be time after the service for us to chat with our guests over some refreshments and we would love YOU to be part of it.
We sing in the traditional format of Soprano, Alto, Tenor and Bass parts and we use both traditional Christmas carols and contemporary ones. If you do not about the different parts, don’t worry, we will work out which would be best for you. Also the ability to read music would be helpful but not essential as we have audio tracks for each of the songs to help you learn the music.
Also please do not be worried we will not ask you to sing on your own, you will be part of a section and there will be support within that section. The important thing is that you can hold a tune and love to sing and evangelise.
We rehearse each Monday from 7:30 to 9:30pm at the Sarum Hill Centre, next to Trinity Church and our first rehearsal is on Monday 2nd September after the summer break. During the rehearsal we will have a refreshment break and will be working on the music for the Christmas service as well as our monthly Care home or prison visits.
We are also love to invite people along who just wish to help the choir with making and serving refreshments at our rehearsal, allowing the choir members to use the time to rehearse.
If you would like to get involved, or know someone who might, just drop me an email so I know how many extra people we will have at our first rehearsal.
God bless
Peter Saint
Musical Director and Conductor.
