Open Doors International Day of Prayer for the Persecuted Church
Sunday 1st November 2026
Every day, millions of Christians risk their lives to follow Jesus. In more than 70 countries, Open Doors supports them by supplying Bibles, providing emergency relief and helping persecuted believers stand strong for the long-term. In the UK and Ireland, Open Doors helps the church to pray, give and speak out for those who share our faith but not our freedom.
This year Sunday 1st November has been set aside as a day for churches to pray and stand alongside our persecuted brothers and sisters. Open Doors has produced a set of resources called Arise Africa for use with adults, and age appropriate material specifically for use with children, to enable your church to engage with this vital ministry. Please consider using these materials on or around the 1st November this autumn.
