This half day course is delivered by thirtyone:eight (formerly the Churches Child Protection Advisory Service) and is designed to assist churches, places of worship, and organisations to develop a broad and sound understanding of the safeguarding task specifically in relation to adults. The course is designed to equip attendees with the necessary tools to create robust safeguarding arrangements.
Who is it for?
The course will benefit all who work or volunteer directly with adults and in adult focused ministries such as; counsellors, pastoral workers, debt advisers, prayer ministry teams, street pastors, etc. As a foundation level course it is designed to be accessed by anyone at any level of the safeguarding learning journey. It should be viewed as the first step before moving on to more advanced and specialist modules.
Course details:
This is a half day interactive programme delivered over a morning. A professional and experienced trainer will use a range of methods to engage delegates from presentation slides to audio visual clips and small group exercises. The session is varied and delivered at a reasonable pace for those who are particularly new to safeguarding.
This course has four modules.
Module 1: Understanding the Context for Safeguarding Adults
Module 2: Who is at Risk and Who are the Perpetrators
Module 3: Signs, Indicators and Effects of Abuse
Module 4: Safer Practice and Responding Well
The cost of the course is £35 per person or £30pp if 5 or more book at once
