Calling Church Youth Leaders

Sharing the Vision for uniting the church youth of Basingstoke.

Inviting you as a Youth Leader and a member of your youth group to a discovery
meeting on Tuesday 17th October 2017 at Wessex Christian Fellowship Hall, Wessex Close, Basingstoke, Hampshire, RG21 3NP at 7.30pm. At this meeting I will share the vision, give you an opportunity to ask questions and discuss what you would like from this event and how you would like to b:involved. The reason I would like you to bring a youth member is because I believe this should be championed by them and their input and ideas are incredibly valuable.

What has Luther done for us?

A talk on the teachings and legacy of the great church reformer (500 years after he started the Reformation)  by Dr Beth Dodd, Director of Online Learning, Centre for Formation in Ministry, Sarum College. This will be presented on Sunday 29 October, 3.00pm in St Michael’s Church Cottage, Basingstoke. RG21 7QW (Church car park is available, and nearby town centre car parks).

We will explore Luther’s light and dark sides, and his ongoing impact and importance for the church today.  What can we learn from this turbulent man and his equally turbulent times?  This free talk is approximately 45 minutes, followed by discussion, with tea & cake available.   Office: 01256 329528

The Salvation Army Church in Basingstoke are celebrating the installation of their new Officer Lieut Rob Westwood-Payne.

Rob, pictured beside his wife Gail, was installed by Major Ian Hudson, the Divisional Mission Enabler, into his leadership role on Sunday 23rd July. Rob announced that his mission is to Win Souls, Grow Saints and Serve those who Suffer. We welcome Rob and Gail into the town and look forward to enjoying fellowship together.

In the summer of 2017,  59 churches across Hampshire brought Who Cares? to their communities to show that not only do we care but also that Jesus cares. Churches began by listening and asking the simple question ‘What Hurts You The most?’.

The churches involved are now responding with compassion, tailoring the normal activities and ministries of the church to meet local people’s needs in an effective and realistic way.

Freedom in Christ Ministry: STRATEGY FOR DISCIPLESHIP

Wardrobes & Rings is a brand new three person theatre production that will transport you back to Oxford in 1963, to the Eagle & Child pub, where legendary authors J.R.R. Tolkien and his great friend C.S. Lewis meet for what turns out to be the very last time. With great humour, wit, and fascinating stories, these remarkable lives are explored in this memorable piece of theatre. After the success of the 2016 one man theatre production ‘An evening with CS Lewis’, actor David Payne returns to the UK in September with Marc Whitmore for a limited run of Church performances.
