The Salvation Army Church in Basingstoke are celebrating the installation of their new Officer Lieut Rob Westwood-Payne.

Rob, pictured beside his wife Gail, was installed by Major Ian Hudson, the Divisional Mission Enabler, into his leadership role on Sunday 23rd July. Rob announced that his mission is to Win Souls, Grow Saints and Serve those who Suffer. We welcome Rob and Gail into the town and look forward to enjoying fellowship together.

Rehoboth Chapel Basingstoke, in conjunction with other local Churches, is planning to host a World Renowned Gospel Music Group (VineSong) to uplift the spirit of members of the church and the community through soul inspiring songs and hymns which can bring about bonding and togetherness demonstrating practical love.

We are delighted to invite church leaders, your entire family and church members to join us in worshipping God; and to welcome and appreciate the music group; the Executive Administrator of the RCCC UK and all other special guests, friends and members of the community to this August event as it promises to be a wonderful evening.

In the summer of 2017,  59 churches across Hampshire are bringing Who Cares? to their communities to show that not only do we care but also that Jesus cares. Churches will begin by listening when people are given a card and asking the simple question ‘What Hurts You The most?’.

The churches involved will then analyse the responses and respond with compassion, tailoring the normal activities and ministries of the church to meet local people’s needs in an effective and realistic way.

The Alpha Film Series will take you on an epic journey exploring the basics of the Christian faith. Find an Alpha near you:

We want to support and equip you in the Responding Phase of Who Cares? and give you a taster of several resources that you could use.

At our recent resources day we were given presentations by AlphaLab, Life Explored and Disciple (Freedom in Christ Ministries). We looked at material called Paraclesis (CWR) and Wisdom House (Care for the Family).

Between 25th May and 4th June, communities and churches around the world gathered together to pray that their friends, families and neighbours would come to know Jesus Christ.

Prayer events of all shapes and sizes took place across the 10 days, including 24-7 prayer rooms, prayer days, prayer walks and half nights of prayer. Cathedrals, churches and other venues hosted Beacon Events, gathering people across towns and cities to worship and to pray for the empowering of the Holy Spirit for effective witness.

A message from Archbishop Justin Welby looking ahead to Thy Kingdom Come 2017, the global 10 days of prayer from 25th May to 4th June for Christians to have the joy and confidence to share their faith so that more people may know the love of Jesus Christ.

Wardrobes & Rings is a brand new three person theatre production that will transport you back to Oxford in 1963, to the Eagle & Child pub, where legendary authors J.R.R. Tolkien and his great friend C.S. Lewis meet for what turns out to be the very last time. With great humour, wit, and fascinating stories, these remarkable lives are explored in this memorable piece of theatre. After the success of the 2016 one man theatre production ‘An evening with CS Lewis’, actor David Payne returns to the UK in September with Marc Whitmore for a limited run of Church performances.
