The Basingstoke Town chaplaincy is looking to recruit a chaplain to serve the Basingstoke bus station. This is a great opportunity to take God’s presence into a busy working environment where there are plenty of opportunities to mingle with drivers, management and staff. There are around 120 drivers who come and go at different times, plus management and other staff.
Malcolm Read has been the chaplain here for over 11 years and he has always been welcomed. He has committed himself to visiting the bus station weekly on Wednesdays, usually for about an hour. From time to time he meets with some employees out of hours, perhaps over a coffee when they wish to talk further, sharing his faith where appropriate and praying for them. He is now looking for a successor to take up the reins as he is now into his 80s
Should you feel God may be calling you for a new mission experience, Malcolm would welcome you to accompany him on one of his weekly visits to see how it all happens. No commitment at this stage. Please contact the Basingstoke Town Chaplaincy by email at admin@basingstoketownchaplaincy.org.uk or call/text Malcolm on 07770872359
